Description

The Hotwire Under Tile Heating Kit is a complete electric floor heating system built for Australian homes. A slim 4?mm heating cable is laid directly over the subfloor before tiling, so the warmth sits just below the floor surface and the room heats up in around 30-60 minutes. Each kit ships with everything needed for a professional result: the heating element, a fully programmable touch screen thermostat with floor temperature probe, installation alarm, fixing tape and manual. Running costs can be as low as a couple of cents per square metre per hour, and a WiFi thermostat upgrade is available.Where to use itIdeal for bathrooms, ensuites, laundries, kitchens and living areas – anywhere tiled floors feel cold underfoot. Because the heating warms and dries wet-area floors, it also helps reduce mould and cleaning. It suits renovations particularly well, since only the floor covering needs to be replaced to install it, and systems scale from a compact 1?m2 zone up to large open-plan spaces. How to usePlan the heated area, fix the cable evenly across the subfloor at the spacing shown in the manual, position the floor probe, then tile or screed over the element. All electrical connections and the final wiring of the thermostat must be carried out by a licensed electrician, and continuity/resistance tests should be logged before, during and after installation.Important notesChoose the kit wattage to match the free floor area, excluding fixtures such as vanities, baths and cabinetry. Do not shorten or cut the heating cable. Register the warranty after installation; the heating element carries a lifetime warranty (conditions apply).Specifications Wattage Coverage (approx.) 300?W 1.4-2?m2 600?W 3.4-4?m2 1000?W 6.1-7?m2 1500?W 9-10.7?m2 3000?W 17.9-21.4?m2 6000?W up to approx. 42?m2 SafetyIndoor use only. This is a 230-240?V fixed-wiring appliance: installation and connection must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with AS/NZS wiring rules, with the circuit protected by an RCD. Independently tested to AS/NZS standards.
